鉄やコンクリートブロックなどの硬質な素材とワックスや着彩を組み合わせて制作を行う神農理恵は、即興的に素材を裁断、結合、変形することで立体を形づくります。物質固有のテクスチャーによる無数の重ね合わせの上に、軽やかな色感や形状を取り込み、堅くやわらかで、繊細かつ荒々しいといった両義的なイメージを浮かび上がらせます。
Rie Shinno
Born in 1994 in Mie, Japan. Lives and works in Tokyo.
Rie Shinno creates works by combining hard materials such as iron and concrete blocks with wax and applied color. She forms sculptures by cutting, assembling, and transforming materials in an improvised manner. On multiple layers of textures inherent to each substance, she incorporates light colors and forms, revealing ambivalent images that are hard yet soft, delicate yet rough.
